Judge Dismisses SEC Insider Trading Suit Against Cuban
A federal judge dismissed the suit the SEC brought upon Cuban that alleged Cuban was part of some inside trading for Mamma.com when he sold off his shares, avoiding losing $750,000 in total.
Cuban's lawyers claimed that he was not an insider so the suit is mute on SEC's claims. Apparently the judge sided with Cuban and gave the SEC 30 days to make an amended complaint.
Good for you Cuban. Hopefully the SEC can just drop the case all together and stop wasting money pursuing more actions against you.
Bass Agrees To 4 Year Deal With Magic
Orlando hasn't announced it but a person with knowledge and anonymity has reported to the AP that Bass agreed to a 4 year deal with the Magic, with an escape clause after 3 years.
Good luck Bass, we will miss you in Mavland.
Marion Comes to Dallas
The dealings were between 4 teams. Shawn Marion though is a Maverick and Stackhouse gets sent to the Grizzlies.
The Mavericks also picked up Kris Humphries, center Nathan Jawai and cash went from Toronto to Dallas. Greg Buckner is now a Maverick for the 3rd time who is coming in from the Grizzlies. Antoine Wright and Devean George are going from Dallas to Toronto.
Wright was okay but won't be missed. Devean George already has a ring and comes off as a paycheck player to me who didn't really apply himself while in Dallas, so he definitely won't be missed.
Bass To Orlando?
It's been reported that Bass has started talks in dealing possibly with Orlando. Reported is a 4 year deal worth 18 million. I know the Mavs wanted to try and keep him and Singleton but I'm sure Bass is looking for more playing time, possibly a starting role. Can't be that bad if he goes to Orlando to play alongside Dwight Howard for a possible ring in the near future.
Kidd Stays Put
It's been reported that Jason Kidd is staying put in Dallas, most likely to finish out his career in Dallas. Supposedly it's a 3 year deal worth 25 million. Kidd will probably play a major role in Dallas, especially with mentoring Little Jose and Rodrigue Beaubois who is coming aboard from France after the draft.
Also in the works supposedly is acquiring Marcin Gortat from Orlando, which in my opinion is a good move for a big man to backup Dampier before he departs and hopefully take on a full role or starting role. Watching him play with Orlando in the playoffs and finals was exciting, he's got a good open look shot that I think could help Dallas down in the paint.
If Dallas keeps their team intact, maybe perhaps getting someone else worthy from a Dampier, Stackhouse and even Josh Howard trade, we could be building the team that gets us back into competition in the West. The only teams that really scare me now is the Lakers and Nuggets, who only got better after the season is over with some of the players they've picked up.
Mark Wunderlich Sucks
This referee sucks at his job. He couldn't even agree with what the NBA released. Did he not review the replay? I'm sure he's seen it a dozen times already. I'm sure the NBA Execs showed him the review of the FUCKING FOUL he should have called.
This referee either needs really huge thick fucking glasses or he needs to find a new job. So many controversial calls in huge games have not been called by this crappy referee when they should have been.
We have the technology to review games, why not use it on every controversial call or hell, every call to make sure they're making the right call. Fouls are called when they were'n't fouls and then fouls aren't called when they're fucking blatantly obvious.
The NBA needs to find more honest unbiased referees or games are always going to be tainted when shit like this occurs.
Down But Not Out
The Mavs are down but not out just yet. Although I don't think they're going to win this series, I still want them to push the Nuggets to a game 7.
With Howard possibly injured and won't be 100% or maybe even out for the rest of the series, our hopes have faded.
The Rockets are up a game on the Lakers, although the Lakers will come back and probably win the series, if the Mavericks could somehow pull out and beat the Nuggets, a possible Texas showdown of the Rockets and Mavs would be fun to watch.
